An old friend returned to Lancaster Raceway Park after a year away. The metal-eating, fire-breathing dinosaur Robosaurus thrilled the capacity crowd with his spectacular show during intermission. He has been coming to Lancaster for over 15 years to thrill fans of all ages, as LRP has become a home away from home for “Robo” and his caretakers.

TWO FIRST TIME CHAMPIONS WITH TOM MCGRATH AND T.J. JOHNSON SECURING CROWNS IN POINTS FINALE

Lancaster's track champions were decided with the last points night in addition to the Tommy Druar Memorial/Mr. Modified 50 being contested. Dave Wollaber won the Modified feature after he had earlier snared his third consecutive T.Q. Midget title. The Modified champion crowned was Tom McGrath after he borrowed another ride for the final points night. Mark Bliss took the last feature of the Holland/Lancaster Late Model Challenge Series. T.J. Johnson grabbed the Late Model championship with his #99; he was the only driver to finish in the top ten of every Late Model feature this season. The other three classes all had repeat champions outside of Wollaber's T.Q. Midget season. Bobby Holmes notched his second straight Sportsman title, Wayne Bernhard rallied to his third consecutive Super Stock championship, and Frank Batista, Jr. garnered his Street Stock title for the second straight year.

SHERRI HOGAN BECOMES FIRST WOMAN IN 21 YEARS TO WIN AT LANCASTER

It was a historical night at Lancaster Raceway Park as Sherri Hogan of Bellwood, Ontario became only the second female in speedway history to win a feature race as she captured the win in the Signworks SST Sportsman on Saturday night. FIVE FOR NUMBER FIVE: Q&A WITH DAVE WOLLABER

Dave Wollaber pulled double duty once again in the 2004 season, driving a modified and a midget for Englewood Collision. That year, Lancaster crowned one less champion than its usual six because Dave Wollaber managed to capture the titles in both divisions. It was the first modified and third midget title for the Ransomville native’s young career. Repeating as a champion is an enormous task for any driver but as many race fans have already heard, Dave plans to take on another challenge this year across the state line at Lake Erie Speedway in yet another division. Below is a quick interview Dave was nice enough to give us at NYRaceZone while getting the cars ready for the fast approaching season.
